HUGGER Dress Code:

The fall weather has taken a big change and cooled off but students love going outside daily for recess, snack, walks and other outdoor opportunities!   Thank you for sending appropriate outdoor clothing for your children.  We do go outside unless it is raining or the temperature has a wind chill of below zero.   We also expect appropriate clothing at school.   Please see below for our Dress for Success guidelines. 

This change to fall weather brings forward an opportunity to review school dress. To clarify some specifics of what we seek your support in honoring at Hugger Elementary under dress code, please see below. 

• All undergarments must be covered. No exposed bras, bralettes, underwear, etc.
• Tops are to cover the complete upper body portion of the child. Shirts should cover the midriff, belly button, and full chest area.
• Bottoms are to cover the complete lower body portion of the child. Bottoms should cover the buttocks. For shorts, lengths should cover the upper portion of the leg and preferably be to mid-thigh so students can comfortably sit, play on the playground and in P.E. class without exposure of the buttocks or underwear.

Footwear – closed-toed shoes are requested and preferable at the elementary level for playground play and required for P.E. class.
